Abdur-Rahman Ahmad
MD

Dr. Ahmad is a Board Certified Electrophysiologist, specializing in the management of cardiac arrhythmias. His areas of expertise include ablative and medical management of arrhythmias, implantation and management of pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy, pacemaker and defibrillator lead extraction and left atrial appendage occlusion device implantation. He believes in educating his patients about their diagnosis, treatment options available and shared decision making with the patient to tailor an individual plan utilizing the newest of technologies for arrhythmia and implantable cardiac device management for each patient.

 

Dr. Ahmad received his medical degree from Aga Khan University in Pakistan.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, New York.  His Cardiology Fellowship was completed at Aurora Healthcare, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and his Electrophysiology Fellowship at Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

 

Dr. Ahmad joined Cardiovascular Medicine in July 2022.  He is Board Certified in Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, and CT.  He is licensed in both Iowa and Illinois and is available for outpatient consultation and follow up visits at the Davenport, Bettendorf, and Clinton locations. Dr. Ahmad has staff privileges at Genesis Medical Center and UnityPoint Health Trinity.

 

Dr. Ahmad is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children and has an interest in motorsport.
