Non-Thermal Adhesive Vein Ablation Procedure

A Non-Thermal Vein Adhesive Vein Ablation is utilized for the treatment of varicose veins to improve symptoms resulting from refluxing veins and reduce leg heaviness, pain, restlessness, itching, swelling, and ulcerations.  The procedure is minimally invasive and requires no general anesthesia.  Only local anesthetic is used to numb the area where the physician is working.  A small tube is inserted into the vein and a small amount of a specially formulated medical adhesive (Venaseal) is delivered to the diseased vein.  The adhesive seals the vein and blood is rerouted through nearby healthy veins.  Patients can resume normal activities the same day.  Patients allergic to adhesive (specifically super glue) or have multiple allergies are not candidates for this procedure.
